General Encyclopedias
Your first stop should be Britannica. Not only do you get encyclopedia listings, you also get links to websites and articles.
There have been big improvements with the Encarta Online Encyclopedia. It now includes dictionaries, atlases, and (thankfully) they have done away with the zillions of banner ads, pop ups, and pictures of Bill. ;)
The E-Conflict World Encyclopedia profiles the nations of the world, including maps, information on government, current conflicts, flags, and audios of national anthems.

Learn2 has information about things you didn't even know you wanted to know about. That made sense, didn't it? : )
