The American Medical Association has, among other things, information about the lastest health research, and articles from JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) and other medical journals.

KidsHealth from the American Medical Association has information about basic first aid, childhood illnesses, and definitions -- in very easy to understand language.

Mayo Clinic's Health O@sis in an online library of information on health topics such as Alzheimer's, heart disease, diet, substance abuse, etc. It has its own search engine, too. Groovy ;)

You'll probably find the Merck Manual tough going unless you have a medical dictionary or a doctor or a nurse handy, but this manual has a little bit of information on almost any kind of medical condition you can name.

Phys is full of information about staying healthy in an easy to read format. There are also ten (10) health calculators that will give you the skinny on ideal weight, caloric intake, etc.

WebMedLit provides access to 22 of the best medical journals on the web. Subjects include AIDS, diabetes, immunology, women's health, cardiology, and more.

I didn't want to get into individual illnesses at this point, but this AIDS handbook written By Middle School Kids for Middle School Kids is really excellent. Additional links provided.
